Every agent decision is explainable. Every action is attributable. Every system is observable.

That is how we have built our solutions since before “governed AI” was a category. NICE Actimize solutions have been independently certified to ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the international standard for AI management systems. Issued by SII-QCD, the certification covers how we develop, provision and deploy our enterprise software products and solutions for financial crime, risk and compliance.

This certification is an achievement and an important milestone, but not the destination. As AI standards and regulatory expectations evolve, we will continue to advance with them. Our goal has never been simply to meet a standard; governed AI is fundamental to how we operate and always has been.

Governance Isn’t a Layer You Add Later

Financial institutions have moved past asking whether AI belongs in fraud and AML operations. Their focus now is whether it can be trusted in production, and who is accountable for it.

For a BSA officer, trust means every investigative narrative and alert disposition can be traced, explained and defended in an exam. For a fraud strategy manager, it means models that remain stable as attack patterns shift. For CIOs and CTOs, it means AI that operates within defined constraints and integrates without creating new risk. For the head of AI transformation, it means a path from pilot to production that risk and compliance teams will approve.

We built our platform for all of them. Human oversight, defined agent boundaries, full audit trails and continuous monitoring are part of the architecture, not a compliance exercise.

What the Standard Validates

ISO/IEC 42001 examines how an organization's AI management system governs AI across its lifecycle: how systems are designed, deployed, monitored, and improved, and who is accountable at each stage. Our AI management system is certified as applicable to the development, provisioning, and deployment of our enterprise software solutions for financial crime, risk, and compliance.

For our customers, that translates into outcomes they can take to their boards and regulators:

  • Regulatory Defensibility
Decisions and rationale are documented and reproducible.
  • Faster, Safer Adoption
Governance evidence is ready before model risk and internal audit ask for it.
  • Consistency Across FinCrime
The same governance discipline applies to fraud and AML.
  • Lower Operational Risk
Monitoring and change controls keep AI performing as intended over time.

What This Means for Our Clients

If you are moving AI from experimentation to execution, governance evidence should not slow you down; it should already be in place.
